Controller

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Controller will perform such duties including, but not limited to, the following:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deal with Banks, all funding issues and construction loans. Prepare monthly package for Banks.
  • All Compliance issues
  • Preparing financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis 
  • Working with the cash transactions team to make sure that transactions are recorded correctly 
  • Assisting with annual audits 
  • Assisting with formalizing of and documentation of internal controls 
  • Reconciling bank accounts to the general ledger 
  • Back up for Processing and/or recording payroll 
  • Reconciling inter-company balances 
  • Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances 
  • Reconciling job cost reports to the general ledger 
  • Working with the accounts payable and receivable department to ensure that transactions are timely and properly recorded 
  • Assisting with budget preparation and monitoring performance to budget 
  • Assisting with the organization of the accounting department 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Accounting degree
  • CPA a plus 
  • Experience in Construction/General Contractor/Developer Commercial and Residential a must 
  • Experience with Property Management a plus 
  • 5+ years accounting 
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Procore, Yardi a plus
