Construction Project Manager
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Construction Project Manager will handle new and rehabilitative building projects ranging from $1M to $60M in both Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. Project Types include: Design Build, General Contracting, CM at Risk, and Owners Representation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cost Estimating – Pricing, Trade input, take-offs, Value engineering
- Construction budget development and management
- Procurement – Bid & Negotiate pricing contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
- Schedule & Logistics – Develop and maintain site schedule and logistics plan
- Client Relations – Works closely with clients, architects and engineers
- Design Team Relations – Work with architects & Engineers
- Design Review for constructability and costs
- Responsible for gathering permits and ensuring that everything is up to code
- Contracts Management
- Field oversight
- Oversight of project compliance to all building codes and local construction guidelines
- Implementation company quality control program
- Leverage technology, safety measures, and information sharing to increase productivity and profitability
- Manage materials/equipment inventory
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field
- Five years in construction industry
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Problem solving abilities and experience with complex transactions with little supervision
- Extensive computer skills
- Self-motivated team player
- Procore or similar project management software experience preferred
