Assistant Project Manager
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Project Manager will assist the Project Management team on new and rehabilitative building projects ranging from $1M to $60M in both Chicago and suburbs. Project Types include: Design Build, General Contracting, CM at Risk, and Owners Representation type projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cost Estimating – Pricing, Trade input, take-offs, Value engineering
- Construction budget development and management
- Procurement – Bid & Negotiate pricing contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
- Schedule & Logistics – Participate in the development and maintenance of site schedules and logistics plan
- Design Management – Work with design team to maintain cost and constructibility
- City, State and local governing authority coordination
- Contracts and change management
- Field coordination with site superintendent
- Procurement of materials, trade contractors and consultants
- Subcontractor and vendor management
- Project documentation management
- Assist in the Implementation company quality control program
- Leverage technology, safety measures, and information sharing to increase productivity and profitability
- Manage materials/equipment inventory
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field
- Two-five years in construction industry
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Problem solving abilities and experience with complex transactions with little supervision
- Extensive computer skills
- Self-motivated team-player
- Procore or similar project management software experience preferred
